Based on the positive reception of our AE77 shop concept, the leadership of AE decided to take the design direction we’d created and roll it out to the AE chain. I created these photoshop mock ups of the overall design (again!) and we dubbed its working title “Lighthouse” due to our approach to lighten and refresh the stores.
Working with my partners Keith and Monique Keegan, we were tasked with bringing the vision to life in a small footprint area in one of their warehouses in Pittsburgh. We worked closely with fabricators and directed every detail of this store mock-up (tight as the space was). These designs have been rolled out over the last year to much success in the sq. ft. sales. I’ve interspersed final store photos next to the original design boards to compare.
Wanting an epic focal point for denim central to the store and story, I developed this crazy bottom lit honeycomb table. Our fabricator Ray pulled it off in epic fashion. We downsized it for this smaller store footprint.
